Ocean Park will offer a snorkeling program this summer, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the Grand Aquarium for half an hour.
The programme called Fish Friends Face-off, is a summer special for people who wish to have an up-close encounter with the myriad fish and beautiful coral reefs in The Grand Aquarium, according to the Park.
Visitors will then have an inside look of the shallow water area of the aquarium through their goggles.
The Park added that the programme also aims to teach visitors important lessons about ocean conservation and show them the exciting works of the Park’s animal caretakers.
The programme will open from June 2 to August 29, and enrolment starts from May 25.
There will be three sessions on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Two sessions in the afternoon will also be offered on Wednesdays and Fridays, and those on Fridays are only available in July and August.
A session lasts about 75 minutes, in which the snorkelling experience lasts about 30 minutes. Wetsuits and snorkelling equipment will be provided.
Each group with up to two participants will be charged for HK$1,500, and only two groups will be allowed within a session.
Participants must be aged eight or above. For children between eight and eleven, they must be accompanied by a paying parent or guardian. Children and adults will be charged the same price.
Holders of valid SmartFun Annual Gold or Silver Passes will be charged HK$1,200 for each group, while holders of valid SmartFun Annual Premium Passes will be charged HK$1,125 for each group.
Visitors can contact the Park at least two days prior to the session to reserve video and photography services, which come with additional costs.
