Britain’s Queen Elizabeth to host US President Joe Biden at Windsor

Britain’s Queen Elizabeth will meet U.S. President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on June 13, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday, Reuters reports.

Biden will become the 13th U.S. president that the 95-year-old monarch has met during her record-breaking reign, and it will be her first such major engagement since the death of her husband Prince Philip in April.

Britain is hosting G7 leaders in Cornwall, England, in what will be the U.S. president’s first overseas trip since he took office in January, and the biggest in-person diplomatic event since the outbreak of the pandemic.

Buckingham Palace released no further details about the meeting between the queen and Biden which will take place on June 13.
