Lee Ka-chiu to lead elections candidate vetting panel

The Chief Secretary John Lee Ka-chiu, will head the new committee to vet candidates for elections, the Chief Executive Carrie Lam said Tuesday.

The Secretary for Security, Chris Tang Ping-keung will also be a member of the committe, Lam said. Others in the committee are the Secretary for Constitutional Affairs, Erick Tsang Kwok-wai, and the Secretary for Home Affairs, Caspar Tsui Ying-wai.

Elsie Leung Oi-see, the former secretary for justice, Rita Fan, the former Lgislative council president, and Lawrence Lau have been named non-official members.
