Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor will deliver the fifth and last Policy Address during her term of office on October 6.
Lam on Tuesday sent a letter to Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen, president of the Legislative Council, saying that she will also attend the Question and Answer Sessions the next day as usual.
She added that she would be happy to attend another Q&A session when the 7th Legislative Council is established in January 2022.
“With the strong support of the Central Government, social and political stability has been restored in the city,” Lam pointed out.
“It is time for Hong Kong to forge ahead with renewed perseverance, particularly in reviving the economy and rebuilding hope and confidence.”
The public consultation for the 2021 Policy Address was launched yesterday. Lam in the upcoming months will conduct some 30 consultation sessions to receive views and suggestions from various sectors. There will also be consultation sessions for lawmakers, which will be held in August.
