Nearly 95,000 fans of Kpop star Soojin start a petition demanding her to be reinstated

Over 90,000 fans of Soojin, a member of the Kpop girl group (G)I-DLE, started an online petition for her return after her company drops her following bullying allegations.

Yesterday, her company Cube Entertainment announced that Soojin would be leaving the girl group.
(G)I-DLE will continue with five members, it stated.

It dropped Soojin after people shared online posts alleging her to have bullied other students in school. Although Soojin and Cube Entertainment denied the rumors, actress Seo Shin Ae came forward and said that Soojin had bullied her when they were classmates together, Korean media reported.

Although Soojin uploaded an apology to deny the accusation and was said to have met with the informant to resolve the issue privately, she still failed to quell the anger of netizens.

Many Koreans said that “Soojin had it coming” and that she still has to explain and apologize to the public and the victims even if she quits.

However, overseas fans expressed their regret over the loss of the main dancer of (G)I-DLE and even started an online petition asking for the Kpop star to return.

As of 4:30 pm today, nearly 95,000 people have joined the petition aiming to gather 150,000 signatures, and it is unknown if the company will respond.

“We want our Soojin back! She does not deserve any of this. Even if (we didn’t even get an explanation) she made mistakes, kicking her out of (G)I-DLE is not a solution!” The petition on Change.org stated.
