Crossover capsule collections have launched Sacai into the limelight in recent years. But the Japanese fashion house’s own designs remain the darling of fashionistas.
Led by founder and designer Chitose Abe, the women’s 2021 preautumn collection showcases a series of simplified shapes that show new ease while amplifying the house’s contrasting style.
Dresses and skirts, as well as jackets for the colder seasons, are reinterpreted through various fabrics, such as tweed, chiffon and silk, as well as contrasting colors like army green and orange, black and white.
For example, the double-breasted suit jacket and wide-leg pants contains a range of shades and fabrics to enhance the unisex look.
The simple sleeveless dress also plays with texture, with side slits adding a sensual charm. Accessories, especially the elegant and classic silk foulard, add an eye-catching ingredient to the mix, perking up jackets, coats and dresses.
