Legendary DJ “Uncle Ray” Reinaldo Maria Cordeiro, 96, will organize a concert this November.
He will be the oldest star holding a concert at Hong Kong Coliseum – breaking the record held by Bowie Wu Fung who had a concert this June at the age of 89.
The “world’s most durable DJ” retired this May after more than seven decades in broadcasting.
The concert, to mark his retirement, will be held on November 6 and 7. Sources said a dozen singers will perform at his concert to pay tribute to the icon, including Teresa Carpio, Elisa Chan Kit-ling and William So Wing-hong.
Those familiar with the arrangement said Uncle Ray said yes to the concert in order to help those in the music industry whose living are affected by the pandemic.
The guests who perform in the concert will get only a red packet and do their own make up and hair.
